Information from End of Year Meeting 6/2/10

1. Selling waters at Graduation on Sunday from 11-1. Please bring a case

of chilled water. Pease help if you are available.

2. Talked about improving self advocacy.

3. Inform Coach Hamann during the next two weeks of what you plan on

participating in this summer.

4. Selected a logo for some new varsity golf bags for the 2010 season!

5. Packet of info mailed home to summer camp players.

We also talked about a Summer Trip change:

As you all know the State Tournament Golf Course was announced on Friday.

It is at Hickory Point.

Well I just found out this weekend, after calling Hickory Point, that they

host a Futures Tour Event June 14-20. The Futures Tours is the "Nation

Wide Tour" of Women's Golf.

Since this "LPGA" event is at Hickory Point June 14-20, we will not be

able to play golf at the course on our summer trip.

One of the days we will go watch the event and walk the whole course,

taking notes, and watching good golf.

This is a disappointment that we will not play the State Course, but we

will still have a blast on the trip. We will play many great courses and

we will be able to watch great players play our state golf course. We

will also have a lot of practice time and playing lessons with coaches.

I do not want to change the weekend of the trip at this time. Starting

next summer, we use a different weekend for our Prospect Girls Golf Summer

Trip.

We will be playing at Red Tail Run Golf Club which hosts the A State

Tournament this year. The IHSA announced to coaches that they might be

switching sites for A and AA every year. So Red Tail Run might be the

site of the AA for 2011. More to come later on this.....

Lastly we talked about the girls planing on playing in the tournament at

Hickory Point in August and/or planning their own trip to Hickory Point to

play this summer.

It is a 3 1/2 hour drive. Also, Amtrak goes to Champaign or Springfield

which are about 40 minutes away from Decatur.

Coach Casper and I are working on a new trip schedule. I will email it

out asap.

The IHSA announced today that the 2010 AA State Finals will be at Hickory

Point Golf Course in Decatur.

We will play there three times on the Summer Trip.

ALSO, DECATUR HOSTS A WELL KNOWN JR. TOURNAMENT AT HICKORY POINT!

I ENCOURGE GIRLS WANTING TO PLAY VARSITY TO THINK ABOUT ENTERING THIS

EVENT.

HERE IS THE INFO. SOUNDS LIKE A LOT OF FUN AND THE PRICE IS GREAT.

Girls ages 4-21 can enter the event.
